Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) and the National Sikh Organisation Inc. have formalised a new Multi Faith Network Agreement, strengthening collaborative support for personnel, families, and community members across New South Wales.
This Agreement establishes a structured, relationship‑focused partnership between the FRNSW Chaplaincy Support Team and the National Sikh Organisation Inc. It provides a clear and culturally appropriate referral pathway for FRNSW Chaplains when they encounter individuals who may benefit from Sikh spiritual, pastoral, cultural, or community‑based care.
The Multi Faith Network Agreement reinforces FRNSW’s commitment to respecting and responding to the diverse faith, spiritual, and cultural needs of its workforce and the broader community—particularly during emergencies, critical incidents, and other situations in which chaplaincy support is essential.
As part of this initiative, we request all Gurdwaras and Sikh organisations across New South Wales to join this collaborative effort. We encourage each organisation to nominate a contact person who can be reached to support Fire and Rescue NSW during any unforeseen or critical incident where Sikh community assistance may be required.
This partnership marks an important step toward ensuring inclusive, culturally safe, and faith‑sensitive care for all who rely on FRNSW Chaplaincy services.
